WALL SCONCE LIGHTING
Wall sconces have been around for, well, forever. Go back into history and you will find castles, homes, barns, really any structure that needed light and there was some sort of wall sconce there. These could be extremely ornate, made of hand forged metal, or very simple like a lantern hanging on a bracket. Either way, it’s still a wall sconce. These days wall sconces are beautiful pieces of art. Every style imaginable, every finish you could possibly think of, a range of sizes to fit any room.
Wall sconce lighting is mainly used in the following areas: Hallways, Entrance ways, Family Rooms, Large walls, fireplaces, Bedrooms, Stairwells and Bathrooms. The great thing about wall sconces is the design that they bring to any space. What used to be a boring plain wall is now an interesting design feature that will have people noticing. The popularity of recessed lighting has reduced the need for wall sconce lighting as a main source of light, but that also causes a problem of eliminating the decorative element on your wall. Using wall sconce lighting in a bathroom on each side of a mirror not only gives you a good amount of light directly in front of your face but it can compliment any mirror, completing that overall design you are looking for. Using them in a long hallway adds character where none existed before. Placing wall sconce lighting on either side of bed provides essential reading light, with the ability to not bother your partner while they are sleeping. Home theaters are increasingly popular and it wouldn’t be a true home theater without wall sconce lighting to set the mood. Wall sconce lighting is a beautiful and functional way to add style, design and light to the spaces of your home.
